Janet Perkins, M.D.
Dr. Janet Perkins grew up in New England, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
She left New England for Chicago Medical School, where she received her master's degree in Public Health. She completed her medical degree and residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Dr. Perkins is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Dr. Perkin’s special passion is Obstetrics as well as advanced Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. She also has a strong interest and expertise in exercise and pregnancy, sports gynecology, exercise and weight loss, and exercise-induced menstrual irregularities.
Dr. Perkins is an avid marathon runner in her spare time. She spent two years in the Peace Corps in Thailand and speaks some French, Spanish and Thai. She now travels to Haiti once a year donating her time and skill to the Haitian Health Foundation.
Dr. Perkins resides in Durham with her husband and their three children.
